Detailed Description
In today’s lesson, students find out what AI can do in 2026, what people think it can do but it can’t, and what is probably coming soon, while they practise can, can’t, could and will be able to.
The lesson begins with a kickoff conversation about the AI apps students already use, followed by a vocabulary exercise where they match eight key words (prompt, deepfake, hallucination, fact-check and more) to their definitions.
Next, students decide which common ideas about AI are myths and which are facts, then read a short text on AI in 2026 and answer questions on it.
The grammar focus explains can, could, will be able to and might be able to. Students then sort twelve AI skills into can, can’t and coming soon, and learn the four parts of a good prompt in the Prompt Lab.
The lesson ends with a fun filler game: Two Truths and a Hallucination, where the class asks questions to spot the made-up fact.
